About
Lauren Smith, MA, LCPC
I've wanted to be a therapist for as long as I can remember. Before entering the field, I worked in another career and spent several years at home raising my son. Becoming a therapist wasn't a career change as much as it was something I returned to when the timing was right.
My work is grounded in clinical training, ongoing consultation, and a commitment to continuing education, while also being shaped by the experiences that have influenced my own life. Like many of my clients, my life hasn't followed a straight line. Parenting a neurodiverse child and going through a divorce have shaped the way I understand resilience, relationships, and the unexpected turns life can take. Those experiences don't give me answers to someone else's life, but they do remind me that people are often carrying far more than anyone else can see.
Outside of work, I'm usually with my son, baking sourdough, wandering through a bookstore, or watching entirely too much Bravo.
